Sorry for not posting lately... Just keep forgetting... So, here is kinda what has been going on...

It was REALLY cold at the A&M vs OSU game a few weeks ago... We went from trying to keep space inbetween us to stop sweating on each other to trying to stay as close to each other as possible so the wind wouldn't blow through...

Then at the Tailgate, T organized a Bags Tourny... The Grizwalds (mom & dad) came in first. Papa Grizwald was a ringer from the professional ring & beat out the Mos (T & me). They won the title which also came with a sprite & a jar of sliced pickles (from the sponsors of the match).
That same weekend was one of my kids fundraiser walk/run - Dravet's Syndrome Association. It was really cold, but not rainy thankfully...
BUT then, on Sunday, came the rain for the Buddy Walk...
Here are 2 of my families:):)

This weekend was back to wedding stuff. We got registered at Sears, Dillards, & Target. A little trouble to get Sears working, but overall, it has been a fun experience:):)

Future Events:

1) My kids are carving pumpkins at school this week... I will post the pumpkins next weekend... They are truely amazing!!!!!

2) KJ is coming in next weekend for the game and to help make invitations:)

3) November 7, I am going to Ft Worth to watch T and some of his buddies run a crazy 10K in boots, pants, through the mud, & over obstacles... I said NO WAY - I will go watch!!!

Someone had the bright idea to travel to Jolly (near Wichita Falls & Henrietta) this weekend on the motorcycle... WHEW!!! It was long and hot!!!

However, in the 739 miles we racked up over Friday & Sunday (mainly), we gained 4 letters & saw LOTS of really cool stuff... AND we had a GREAT party at my mom & dads house:):)

In total, we have finished 15 letters & have the other 10 planned (X is not possible since there is not an X town in Texas)...

Last night, T asked me the most important question of all time!!!!

We had a great night watching the Astros beat the Pirates from the FiveSeven restaurant in center field. It was wonderful with drinks & dinner & feet propped up & Friday Night Fireworks.

Afterwards, we walked around their museum/park outside the stadium. Of course I am thinking "this would be a perfect time for him to propose:):):)" As we were walking away, he says, "Hey, there is our baseball. Want a picture?"

The poor guy that took our picture had a baby in his arm and didn't know what he was getting into:):) T asked him to take another picture because 'he had his eyes closed'. As the guy said 1-2-.., T said, "Will you marry me?" (while down on one knee)... and the guy says CRAP and starts taking lots of pictures!!! It was really funny.

Of course I started crying and jumping up and down!!! T was waiting on me to stop jumping up and down so he could put the ring on my finger:) I jumped in his arms and told him how much I loved him!!! He kinda pulls away from me and says, "UMM... You haven't said YES yet" ooppss... YES T!!! I WILL MARRY YOU!!!!!!!!!!

T is so wonderful!!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!!

Monday, T & I went to gather more letters in our quest to get all the ABC of Texas. This trip we decided to go East with the hopes of maybe getting to the LA border. We really didn't have any towns aimed for either... but, on the road, we decided on a few.

We started with Z for Zavalla. Thankfully we found this town. There are not very many towns in TX that start with a Z.

Then found Etoile for our E. Really no reason.Our last stop was Oakwood for our O. We decided on Oakwood since this is my last year (actually few days) at the school I have been at for 10 1/2 years.

On the way through the gorgeous trees of East Texas, we came across Norwood, Texas. If it would have been a little darker, we would have found the Norwood sign in our saddlebag and in the home of Pam:):)

Thorin is so great about stopping for beautiful pictures like this one. However, this picture does not do the field justice.

We saw this baby deer just sitting under a tree. Unfortunately we didn't see a mommy around. I hope Bambi's mom is okay...

We ended up traveling 436ish miles between 9:30 am - 6:30 pm. It is always great to be out with my sweetie, but I can't do more than 1 day... my bottom was so sore & I am not great with the sun screen.

Spring Break

Well, my spring break really consisted of no boyfriend (he was on & still is on business), working, putting together our school yearbook (editing & finishing my pages because I have been helping everyone else - 3 full days of my break!!!), and helped my best friend throw my nephew his 4th birthday party!!!

Even though I have worked and stressed over what has to get done before the end of the school year, it has been a relaxing week!!! A secret that is helping my stress not take over my entire being... MY STUDENT TEACHER IS IN FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS!!! Jessica is amazing and wonderful & I am going to get so much done!!! (knock on wood!!)

T's birthday was on March 1 & Mine was on March 5... So, at our house, we have a huge birthday week!!!! Here are some pics of our week:):)

T's birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse

T told me just before Christmas that he wanted a flag that has been flown over the capitol during the Bush term. I ordered it, but didn't know if it would happen with such short notice. Sure enough, about a month ago, I got the flag in the mail. It had been flown over the capitol on January 17 - WHEW!!! that was a close call.

For our birthdays, Kimmie & Joe got us a gift certificate to the Republic, a very nice steak house in CS. To add to it, I got T an additional gift certificate there too. We are going to eat VERY WELL!!!!

NOW IT IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

After school, a group of us headed to Johnnie Carino's...

Thorin showed up with BEAUTIFUL flowers! He is so amazing (even though he said that he beat some guy up in the parking lot for them).

Now, T is in Minnesota to finish out his birthday week by participating in the Polar Plunge with one of his best friends. As for me, I went to watch the Aggies play baseball & I am off to visit family:)

So, one of my kiddos is hilarious!!!!!!!!!! I laugh with him all day long! He is so sweet and animated and just cracks me up!!!

Well, Thursday, he comes in from PE telling me he was sick and wants to go home (he is also signing to me). After lots of questioning of what actually hurts and why he wants to go home, he reasures me that he is sick and wants to go home because he has HICCUPS:):):):) When asked to demonstrate his hiccups so we can find out "what kind" he has so we know how to treat it, J jumps in the air with a HUGE FAKE hiccup:):) We all started rolling!!!!!

Then on Friday, while J is sitting in his favorite chair, he started to tell me how much his tummy hurt and that he needed to go to the doctor. I, of course, asked what was wrong in his tummy. J pointed to his tummy & responded with a straight face, "BABY".
"Oh, J has a baby in his belly and it is making his tummy hurt and he wants to go to the dr."
I then asked what the dr was going to do if J got to go... J said, "P-U-S-H!!!!"

Oh my... I have rolled and rolled!!!!!!

Today, when J got to school, I asked him about the baby in his tummy. He informed me that they were not there anymore. Mo - "You had the baby? What did you have". J-"boygirl". Mo- "You had a boygirl?" J-" Boy & Girl" Mo- "Oh, J had 2 babies?!?" J- "yes" Mo-"what did you name them?" J - "Gorilla & Mavel"....

Out of the mouth of babes.... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEW!!!! This year was a tough year to go see Santa... The boys were so excited!! Hank was shaking with excitement while he was sitting at the front door. I didn't take Hank's gentle leader because I didn't want the Santa elves to think he was a biter. Well, I will take it regardless from now on. Hank is a 100 lb kid that knows what he wants and that he can drag you there. My children are well behaved, but you know it was tough when Oz was the good kid today:) On top of dragging me everywhere, Hank - AGAIN - chewed through his leash in the big bad store of PetSmart. Thankfully everyone was VERY nice & helpful (as usual!!) & we got a pretty good Christmas picture:):)

At school, the kids and I went and played in the snow all 1st period before it melted!!!!!

T & I went to Washington DC this past weekend to run in the Marine Corp Marathon & 10K. Holy Smokes... we finished!!! T ran the marathon and finished in the top 1/3 with a finish time of 4 hrs & 12 mins. T ran the ENTIRE thing!!! I ran the 10K and finished in the bottom 1/3 (hehehehehehe) with a finish time of 1 hr & 17 mins. I ran the first 4 miles and then ran walked the rest... after mile 5 I was wondering WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS I THINKING!!!!!

Gracie's mom put out an email wanting babies from her. So, wanting babies from Oz, I emailed her back and made a meeting to make babies:) Here is the result:):):) We are so proud!!

Howdy all... Sorry for not posting anything new lately... but WOW, what a year it has already been:)

This year I have 9 boys in my room... No Girls! Good thing they are MAINLY sweet... They are a handful:)

Just an example... Yesterday, the computer tech was fixing my computer...

The timer went off for us to start cleaning up from working on our personal information in 4 groups.

As if the talking of 4 groups (8 kids (1 boy was out in class) & 4 adults) wasn't loud enough... add in cleaning ... add in the kids all coming to me wanting to show what they had done...

THEN top it off with one of my kids cleaning his dry erase board. When he went to spray the board, the sprayer was pointing at his face - and yes, he sprayed himself in the eyes. As if that wasn't bad enough, he started wiping his eyes with the felt we use as erasers. He had black all over his face & red eyes.

The tech guy left laughing & thanking the good Lord that he doesn't have a classroom:):):)

Thorin just got back from his TRIP OF A LIFE TIME!!! He left here a week ago Friday, traveled from here to Arkansas, to Nebraska, to South Dakota, to Wyoming, to Montana, back to Wyoming, to South Dakota, to Colorado, & finally to Texas where he stopped to spend the night at mom & dad's and then FINALLY CAME HOME on Sunday!!!!! WHEEWWW!!!

Now, Thorin just got back from his Little League Football coaching meeting. He wanted PK-K boys, but got 5th-6th grade... He doesn't really know what to think. He is also waiting on a little brother. He was supposed to have one a few weeks ago, but it fell through. Then he was getting another one, but that fell through. Maybe he will get a new one soon. He really can't wait.

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE IN THE FACE

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE THEY KEPT ON WALKING,

UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN S LAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE! AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM. AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING, HE WROTE ON A STONE: 'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE'

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW, YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?'

THE FRIEND REPLIED 'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY. BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US, WE MUST E NGRAVE IT IN STONE WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT' LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON, AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM, A DAY TO LOVE THEM, BUT THEN AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM.

We have lots that has gone on, but I have been too busy & without internet to get it blogged:)

On August 6, T & I went to the Brazos Valley Bombers game. The Bombers are our local baseball team... like a scout team, not minor league, but a group of college players. The Bombers games are ALWAYS so much fun! This game was the 2nd game in the playoffs, the first home game of the playoffs. To celebrate, a jewelry store donated 24 Blue Topazs & 1 half carrot DIAMOND for the 2nd Annual Diamond Derby. I definately wanted the diamond (to hand to someone else:):)), so here is the competetion.

I chose the correct star color... now I have a 1 in 25 chance for the diamond..

Now, they are drawing numbers... I am down to the last 7.... Nerve racking!!!

I didn't get the diamond - SHUCKS!!! However, I did win this beautiful blue topaz:):)
We went with our friends, Brian & Dana & Logan & Bryce.
For those of you that know us, you won't be one bit surprised that Dana & I showed everyone how to dance the Chicken Dance.

T & I went on a bike ride Sunday. I had no idea where we were going except that we were "going that way" (as T points in the direction of Austin).

We headed in so many directions that I totally was lost until I saw an Austin this way sign.

Our 304 mile trek started with us getting our P (ABCs biking around TX) in Pfluegerville.

Then we went to our main destination...

After 2 hours of playing in the water, we decided we had time to walk around the touristy town (it reminded me of Gruene, TX) before heading back to CS.

On our way home, we noticed rain in the distance... In Caldwell, the wind shifted and the clouds were close... T stopped and gave me the rain jacket and he got his goggles... Lightning is beautiful, but not necessarily when you are on a motorcycle & you can see lightning ALL AROUND YOU!!!

On University right past the Vet School, the rain started... we were 1 block from the house when the rain HIT. We got home safe and sound. I had time to jump off the bike, gather my stuff, & get the boys in from the rain.

A safe trip... A wonderful town... An excellent "walking map" as a tour guide...

Prayer request update

This is an email I got on Wednesday from Hank's brother about Luke's surgery (see past post for pryer information)....

This is Hank's brother Matthew. Hank won't have computer access until tomorrow, so he asked me to send out this update for him.

The surgery was today and went as well as the surgeon expected. He was able to make two incisions and break up some of the cyst membranes. Luke did great and will be in recovery in the ICU until Wednesday afternoon. If all goes well, he will be released late Wednesday. The doctor plans to take an MRI on Wednesday to see if there is any immediate progress. He is also going to take a second MRI about 3-4 weeks from now.

Hank also asked me to let you all know that they appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers so much. They should be back home in Henrietta on Sunday.

Thursday, I headed up to my mom and dad's house for the weekend. It was really the only weekend we have had NOTHING going on and could actually go tripin:)

I took my time getting home & was going to stop and see Kimmie (my sister that lives in Ft. Worth), but totally missed seeing her:( I thought she had to go to work at 7, but she had to be there at 3:(

Well, Thursday night, I went to dinner with my parents at Tx Roadhouse. .. (Dad got to ride in style:))

While at dinner, I saw a GREAT friend of mine... Francy & Bryan & their kiddos...

Friday, I got to have lunch with my BESTEST friend EVER, KJ, & her boyfriend Tony, my mommy, & our good friend, Amy...

then we went to see Mama Mia!!! & it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, I went to a birthday party...

Then I met Shad & Anne's new addition, Henry James...

Saturday night, I went to Lee's going away party. It was so much fun!!! I got to play with almost all of my guys... (Keith - met in '94, Lee - best buds since junior high, Todd - best buds since '94, & Shad - best buds since birth)

I LOVE MY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that would have made this weekend better would be if Thorin would have been able to go home with me:( but when Uncle Sam calls... (Thorin is in Virginia for the Marines - I pick him up on Saturday!!!!!!)

A friend of mine from home (Hank & Kealey Bullinger) noticed that her 5 month old son's head was as big as her 2 year old's head. She was concerned, but after doctors said it was nothing, she let it go... Finally, she decided she couldn't let it go anymore... she knew something was wrong.

After tests, they found out that Luke had a cyst in his head.

The good news is that it is operable & malignant.

The scary part is the fact that a 5 month old is going to have surgery on his head.

Here's an image of Luke's cyst (gray area on left is the cyst). There is a slight chance that his surgery will be bumped up earlier to Tuesday 7/22 at 1 pm instead of Thursday 7/24.

Please keep my dear friends in your thoughts...

I am taking Thorin to the airport tomorrow and he will be in Virginia for 2 weeks for the Marines. I have only been without him that long one other time and I HATED it! Tonight, we went on a date:) He took me to Olive Garden & to see Meet Dave (by the way - it is HILARIOUS!!!) Since he will be without his family for 2 weeks, I made him a WE MISS YOU book. Yesterday Hankie & I went on a run. I was hesitant because he was REALLY tired the night before... BUT, as Hank normally does, he was jumping and jumping when I put on my tennies. HE LOVES TO GO RUN WITH ME!!! I watched him as we ran and he was totally fine. I guess it was just the heat from the day before.

Here is the funny... When we got about 1 block from the house, I realized I had to go potty:):) So we quickly came to the house and as most of you know who have smaller children, you can't potty by yourself... the privacy leaves when you have children... I haven't pottied by myself in over 2 years... (on a side note... T laughs when I come out of the bathroom with ALL my little duckies - I have been known to have 2 dogs & a cat in the bathroom with me)...

When I hit the bathroom, Hank decided to hit the showers... I guess he thought he stunk:):):):):):)

Thorin came home on July 4th with a patio table we had looked at. How fantastic!!! Isn't it GREAT!!!
Even better, he had to go to Houston, so while he was gone, I put everything together as a surprise.

His best comment ever (as he is looking through the window at me bathing the dog after seeing the front yard mowed)... "I see you have been industrious... Sweet!"

I am glad he enjoyed the work. It is nice to know I can still be an independent woman:):) & appreciated for that:):)

Turns out the entire family enjoys it:):)

We have sat outside and enjoyed drinks and dinner a few days already:)

ESY GETS STARTED

Today was the first day of our ESY Program. I really don't know my audience just yet, but to catch you up to speed, I am the head director of the ESY program and have spent MONTHS in preparation for this day (with the help of my ESY committee).

I started off at the Elementary campus (3 year olds through incoming 4th graders) and saw some new faces among the group of what will be up to 35 kiddos - WOW!!!. They will all come through my doors at OW sooner or later because we hold all the programs and know all (or most) the kiddos becuase of Little Cooks Cafe.

Then, I went to the High School campus (incoming 5th graders through 22 year olds) and saw all MY kids. Seriously, all but 5 of the 20 kids have come through my room either as my kid or as my shared co-teach kid. It is crazy to think, but this will start my 10th year to teach... YIKES!!!! I should have written a book!!!

I, of course, took TONS of fun pictures to post on the website and share with you guys too. However, I can't put all of them up yet because I have to wait on parent permission.

The good news is that I can share one event with you because I know Garrett's parents are cool with the internet:)

For starters, it was Garrett's 12th birthday today. The kids sang Happy Birthday to him and then EVERYONE got YUMMY cupcakes that his mom and dad sent.

Everyone really enjoyed them... especially Garrett:):)

Seriously shocked he didn't dive face first into the cupcake... To ensure cleanliness, since we his next move was to go home on the bus in about 10 minutes, Ms. Keisha helped G eat his cupcake:):)

So today I join the ranks of many friends and open a BLOG!!

What I am debating is how to use it. I want to have a place to show off my school kids, so I think I might do that... with the occational personal story and pictures.

For right now, I will add pictures of my school kids this year.

I guess that is all for now... I have a workshop on Monday to learn more about how to make this the coolest blog EVER!!!
